Description
This telescoping carving stand is the the perfect solution for holding your carvings while you carve.
The construction of the carving stand is all metal with plastic knobs on the handle. There is a rubber guard on the edge of the disk so that you don’t have to worry about it damaging your floors.
When fully extended, the stand reaches a height of 51 inches, allowing you to carve while standing up with ease. When it’s fully collapsed, it’s only 25 inches tall, perfect for carving while seated.
Using this carving stand, or any holding device, will not only allow you to carve with more energy efficiently, but safer as well.
The 18 inch disk provides good stability even when carving with a mallet. The 3″ by 3.5″ metal plate on the end of the 12″ long spindle has 8 holes in it, allowing you to securely screw it to the back or bottom of your carving.
The spindle can be rotated 360 degrees on two axes, allowing you to position your carving however you need to in order to carve comfortably and efficiently.
Since the entire carving stand only weights 20 pounds, it’s easy to transport and once unscrewed, can even be easily be packed in the trunk of a car.

I have several manufactured ball-mount positioning ‘vises’ for carving, but after purchasing this very stable carving stand I must say how much better it is in all respects! The fast and easy positioning of the work is a real joy. The other systems are limited to mounting on a bench and thus limits my orientation to the work. Dylan’s stand alone system is more stable and comfortable for relief and in-the-round carving. I highly recommend this woodcarving positioning system!
